Friends and family will gather for a celebration of her life at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road.
Linda Louise Rodgers passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 16, 2013. She was 60 years old. Born in San Francisco, California on January 23, 1953, Linda was the daughter of Barbara Jameyson Browne and the late Glenn Gordon Browne. Her father’s employment brought her and her brother, Daniel Browne (Hona Childers) to Seoul, Korea, for several years during their childhood. Eventually the family’s travels brought them to Darien, Connecticut, where she met her high school sweetheart and husband of 35 years, Scott Rodgers.
Linda graduated with a bachelor of science in 1975 from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. She and Scott married in Oxford, Ohio on September 16, 1978. Together they welcomed a daughter, Lindsey Rodgers Barman (Charles) of Chicago, Illinois, and a son, Michael Scott Rodgers, of Indianapolis, Indiana. Linda and Scott exemplified the true definition of marriage, upholding their vows with love, support, and kindness.
She is also survived by her father-in-law Francis “Buck” Rodgers, sisters-in-law, Kathy Rodgers Heckert (Alex) and Christy Rodgers Smith, as well as her five nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Helen Loucks Rodgers.
Linda enjoyed her life as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to countless loved ones. She and her husband lived in Ohio, Connecticut, and Florida before moving to Indianapolis in 1994. She was an accomplished swimmer, bright medical technologist, and live music enthusiast. Her smile reflected genuine caring and happiness.
Linda will be remembered most for her vibrant sense of humor, warm spirit, and endless love for her family and many pets.
Friends and family will gather for a celebration of her life at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road.
Donations in Linda’s memory may be made to Joy’s House (www.joyshouse.org).

Doug Lawrence says
Scott, I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I could take you out for a drink.
I am now seeing Ann Vernon, and she has been great.
Her older brother, Jerry, class of ’70, is battling dementia, also. He doesn’t remember much, certainly not high school.
It just isn’t fair, but it makes you appreciate the best stuff about life even more.
If you are ever in Darien, look me up.
All my best,
Doug
